Set on a modern desert army base, the shows explore how war can strain the most trusting of people which can either in joy - or disaster. 

Twelfth Night & The Tempest

Shipwrecks, magic, monsters and mistaken identities. In one night and in two hours, the same company of actors present two one-act versions of Shakespeare’s most famous seafaring plays: The Tempest and Twelfth Night.

Award-winning Oxford-based theatre company BMH presents two tales of romance and adventure. In Twelfth Night the stranded Viola must find her lost brother and seek true love. In The Tempest a sorceress takes revenge for past wrongs – but will she ever be able to let go?

With live music, puppetry, dancing and more, expect an evening of fresh, fun, vibrant and accessible Shakespeare for all ages.

Macbeth & A Midsummer Night's Dream

In one night and in two hours, the same company of actors presented one-act versions of plays linked by the dangerous power of magic. In Macbeth the dark magic of the witches tempted the noble Macbeth to fall to murder. In Midsummer Night’s Dream, the playful magic of the fairies lead to confusions, mayhem and finally true love.

The Flint Street Nativity

December 2015, The Old Fire Station

Mizzis Horrocks’ class of seven year olds is about to perform their nativity play at Flint Street Junior School for the proud mums and dads – and the occasional social worker. Squabbles arise: Gabriel wants to play Mary, Herod won’t stop waving to his mum and dad and the subversive Innkeeper is determined to liven up the traditional script. And then the stick insect escapes…
An uplifting, fast-paced comedy from the writer of Calendar Girls. Performed entirely by adults.

As You Like It

June - July 2015, Oxford Castle Courtyard

BMH took this production to the newly formed Oxford Shakespeare festival at the Oxford Castle 2015. It was then shown at Dorchester Abby as part of a charity event to fund raise for an AIDS awareness project in Africa. Finally it was part of the open air Summer festival at the Dell outdoor theatre in Stratford Upon Avon on the bank holiday weekend in August.

Truce

December 2014, Unicorn Theatre

Christmas 1914. A truce emerges between two armies and new bonds are made.

Years on, Bill recounts his stories of war and slowly starts to realise the lessons he learnt are more important than ever.
This thought provoking piece of new writing by Oxford resident Andrew Blagrove was performed at the Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon's Historic Abbey.

Guy Fawkes and the Catesby Catastrophe

A piece of new writing by Ashley Harvey about the forgotten participants in the Gunpowder Plot. We all remember Guy Fawkes - but how many people could name those who helped him?

Performed at the Northampton firework spectacular, the Lake Meadow fireworks event in Essex and the Fireworks and theatre in the park event in Christchurch park Ipswich.
