Come and audition for this summer’s BMH double bill: Romeo & Juliet and Troilus & Cressida!

Audition Dates: Sunday 10 December - OFS Oxford - 1:30pm to 4:00pm
Wednesday 13th December - OFS Oxford - 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Performance Dates: 17 – 29 June 2024

Rehearsals: 1 – 2 evenings per week, plus Sunday afternoons. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Rehearsals will begin early in 2024 for those involved in stage combat, and March / April for the rest of the cast.

Following the format which has been used for previous summers, in 2024 BMH will be producing two hour-long Shakespeare plays performed in one evening, either side of an interval. This year the plays are Romeo & Juliet and Troilus & Cressida. These stories of star-crossed lovers set against the backdrop of war and love, share striking parallels and offer a summer show that delves into the complexities of human relationships and explores thematic similarities between the two.

Roles Available

All roles are available, and auditions are open to everyone.
BMH are keen for this show to reflect the diversity of talent in Oxford and all roles are being cast flexibly in terms of age, ethnicity, and gender. So, if you are keen to play wily Odysseus or fiery Tybalt come along and audition, even if they might not be your typical casting.

Some roles in this production will involve stage combat and some include kissing (some will include both!) so do let us know if you do not wish to be considered for roles involving either of these. There are roles in both plays that do not include any intimacy or fighting.

Everyone cast will have a role in both plays.

Auditions

Auditions will be held at: The OFS, George street, Oxford City Centre
Dates and Times: December 10th 1:30pm to 4pm
Please be available for the entire session. The audition will consist of some group work, scene work and individual work, but there is nothing to prepare in advance and the session will be relaxed and informal.
